Vance Wireless is a new Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) located in Belzoni, MS. We offer high speed internet to people living in rural areas where most cable and dsl companies do not offer service. The best way to describe our system is to say that it is a cross between cellular and satellite technology. As with satellite systems you will need an antenna installed at your home in order to receive our signal, however we do not point our antennas towards the sky (like satellite dishes) but instead we point towards a tower (similar to a cellular tower) within range. Once the signal is acquired, we lock our antennas down so that you will always have the same constant connection between your home and our tower site. Our installers run a single (ethernet) cable into your home to service your desktop computer or as with most internet services, you can feed a wireless router and run multiple computers off the same connection.
We are opening our doors in October of 2011 and we will begin the process of building our network coverage area. Please see our initial coverage area on the coverage section above. After spending a few months testing equipment and surveying potential customer hot-spots we will be aggressively begin constructing broadcast tower sites in order to bring our system online.
We currently have 1 broadcast site in Belzoni on our 400 foot tower. We will be expanding this in the very near future to bring our service to as many rural folks and businesses as we can. We will be expanding north toward Leflore county and out toward Inverness and Indianola. We will also be expanding west toward Hollandale and then south toward Yazoo City.
Our goal is to provide dependable, yet affordable high speed internet service to consumers in areas where dsl and cable is not available.
